As a graduate myself, I can appreciate the application problems.

  As the first person in my family to apply for a 4 year college, I didn't have anyone 'close' to turn to for advice.

As the first person at my school to apply to a Service Academy, the counselors were just reading the same catalog that I was using for my application information...

I read the instructions.  I filled out the application.
 I did NOT get accepted!
Well, not the first time...

So I ENLISTED in the service to improve my odds...
and I didn't get in the second time...

But I was learning, and...
I applied again!
I DID GET ACCEPTED!
I GRADUATED!

and you probably can too.
