Physical Fitness is a constant element in succeeding at the United States Air Force Academy, and is tested as part of the Application process. If you think you are fit now, try running at altitude!!
The Fitness exam part of the Application is called the CFA or Candidate Fitness Assessment.
The parts of the CFA include...
- Mile Run
- Push Ups
- Pull Ups/ Flexed Arm Hang (women)
- Sit Ups
- Shuttle Run
- Basketball Throw
As with all things Military, there is a very specific way each action is to be executed including sequence and time allowed for each part and rest between events.
The same exam is used for
US NAVAL ACADEMY
US MILITARY ACADEMY
US MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY
US AIR FORCE ACADEMY
If you are applying to more than one Federal Service Academy, you only have to submit one set of scores for the Academies listed above.
