Every part of the Naval Academy Application is graded and weighted. The rough numbers are
60% Academic
20% Physical Fitness
20% Extra Curricular Activities/ Leadership/ Interviews/ Recommendations
The Naval Academy application is submitted online. The USNA Pre-Candidate questionaire will (hopefully) be considered qualified and advanced to the next stage of being an "Official Candidate". At the OFFICIAL CANDIDATE stage you will be assigned a number and password and you can track your application online through the CIS or Candidate Information System.

The first opportunity to get your name on the 'interested' list is to apply to the Naval Academy Summer Seminar, a 5 day training event at the Naval Academy conducted each summer, usually the summer before your senior year in High School. The NASS online application opens 01 February 2010.
